Courthouse steps are a great place to buy houses - but can, also, hand the buyer financial loss. Know what you're doing or get with someone who does. Foreclosure is a devastating experience and some people that are foreclosed upon do some serious damage, to "their" house, before they vacate the property. Recently, an investor purchased a house being foreclosed and believed they were getting a good to great deal. Upon entering the house, everything looked promising - until they looked at the toilets and sinks. Turns out "someone" flushed bags of cement down the drains and down the toilets - severely damaging the septic and requiring a, complete, re-piping of all plumbing. That good to great deal ended up being a bad to worse loss for the buyer. Remember, you don't know what's behind the door of a house being auctioned off on the courthouse steps. Just be sure you're aware of the risks and best of luck to you !! Something to ponder for the new year ahead. Happy 2014 !!
